About Denise:

Photography is not just something I love, but something I am passionate about.  I am an award winning photographer and have been behind a camera lens since I was 8 years old with my first Kodak brownie camera.  My true joy in life is making people happy and photographing people and events that capture their memorable moments.  I also love nature and when I have the opportunity, I am behind the camera taking photos of birds or flowers, even if in my own backyard.

I am the President of the Fort Wayne Photographers Club, where I have earned the respect of my fellow photographers.  The club gives me the opportunity to share my knowledge and years of experience with the less experienced photographers.  We have monthly workshops and competitions. For the 2007-2008 season I was awarded Digital Image of the Month and won Digital Image of the Year and five honorable mentions at the end of year competition. In the past year I also won Best of Show and First Place at the New Haven Parks and Recreation Department Art Show and two Honorable Mentions at the Wassenberg Art Show.

I am an expert in Photoshop and a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals.  What this means is that I can do magical things in the computer to a photograph.  Depending on your needs, I can remove a blemish or scar, turn a color photo into a black and white or sepia composition, or create a montage of multiple images.   I have even been known to switch out a head or two in a group photo where someone was blinking!

About Gene:

I am also passionate about photography and have won multiple awards, including second place at the Indiana State Fair for my “Baby Robin” photo and an Honorable Mention at the Acres Land Trust Photo Competition.

I have not been a photographer my whole life, but attribute my photography skills to the excellent training I received from Denise and the many workshops I attend to expand my knowledge.  I have always loved nature, and was hooked the moment I realized that photography is able to capture the beautiful things seen in nature, and preserve those images forever.  And the digital age is fantastic!  You can click away, taking hundreds of photos, capturing amazing images of every moment, whether it is a hawk in flight or a beautiful wedding!  I also love being creative in my photography, coming up with unusual images such as the groom reflected in the hubcap of his 1964 Ford, or reflections in water of the bridal party at Lakeside Park.

I am also a member of the Fort Wayne Photographers Club where I enjoy meeting with fellow photographers, competing in monthly competitions and attending the many workshops.
