How do I see samples of your
work?
This web site has examples of our photography as well as a sample wedding album. But please call for an appointment, where we will be glad to show you additional examples of our photography as well as sample albums. You may also view a sample slide show which is one of the options available for purchase.
Do you use digital or 35mm
photography?
We shoot digital so that we can take many photos of your special day and capture all those memorable moments. We use professional grade Canon equipment (camera bodies, lens and flash) with our primary Canon cameras being a 5D, 12.8 megapixel.
Do I receive a copy of the digital prints or do all prints have to be ordered through you?
Your images are downloaded to our website where you as well as family and friends may view and order photos in a variety of sizes at reasonable prices. The photos will remain on our site for 60 days from the date of download. You will also receive a DVD of all the digital photos/files. This allows you and family members to view any of the images, print images at home, or download images as screen savers, or even to send in an email. However we recommend you do not order photos from your neighborhood superstore or drugstore…those images are not done at a pro lab using quality inks and paper and generally the color is off.
So do I own the copyright to the
photos?
We will both own the rights to the photos. You will receive the digital images and may make copies or enlargements from them for your own personal use. We will retain the original image and retain the rights to use select photos for promotional use or in photo competitions.
What style of photography do you
offer?
We take both photojournalistic and traditional styles of photography. Photojournalistic style is documentation of the events of your wedding day, as they happen. Our photos create a story of your special day, including preparation, ceremony and reception. Some time is allocated for formal photos, but to capture the essence of your day, candid photos allow you and your family and friends to be themselves, capturing emotions, while celebrating your day.
Do you take both color and black
and white pictures of the wedding?
All photos are in color, but any photos can be converted to black and white for a small additional charge.
How many pictures will you be
taking?
The number of images captured varies with the package you choose. It is based on the number of hours of coverage in the package. Of course, the more hours on the job means more time to photograph and capture every element of your day. While we can’t give a specific number, each package has an approximate number of photos based on the time frame.
Will I receive proofs?
No, you will receive a DVD with all the images. From the DVD you may select the images you would like to have printed. We do not place the photos in the albums, in the event you want to add photos taken by friends or family into the mix.
Who will be my photographer?
We are a husband-wife team and we will personally be taking your wedding photos. Both of us are award winning photographers and members of the Fort Wayne Photographers Club where I am also the President for the 08-09 season. So, unlike most studios, you know the photographers that will photograph your special day - your photographer is not just someone hired by us with little or no experience.
Can you alter a package to meet
my needs?
Yes. The package can be altered
to fit your specifications, prior to the signing of the
contract.
Do you photograph the rehearsal
dinner?
It is not included in our packages, but the packages are adaptable to your needs. We generally do stop in for the rehearsal itself, to be able to scope out the best locations to set up the equipment to record your wedding day, but we don’t photograph the rehearsal unless it is part of your customized package.
How much do you charge for
overtime above the allocated time of a package?
The additional fee per hour is $150.
Will you travel and what are your
charges?
Yes, we will travel to your location. For weddings located under 25 miles from our office in Fort Wayne, Indiana, there is no additional charge. For weddings that are between 25-50 miles, there is a $50 travel/gas fee. 51-100 miles there is a flat $100 fee. If more than 100 miles or if the wedding is out of Indiana, airfare and hotel costs will be required.
How do we reserve a date?
You can email us by clicking on the link from our website to set up an appointment to meet with us and lock in your date and price with the signing of the contract. Or your can reach us by phone at 260-625-5982.
How soon should we reserve the
date?
It is best to reserve the date as soon as possible. Since we are your photographers, and we limit the number of weddings we shoot, it is best to book as far in advance as you can to lock in your date.
Do you require a retaining fee
for your services?
Yes, one third of the cost of your package is required at the signing of the contract and is nonrefundable. The balance of the package fee is to be paid three weeks in advance of the wedding.
Do you expect meals and breaks
for the photographer?
Yes we do. It is a very busy long day, and the opportunity to rest a few minutes and have dinner is necessary.
What is the dress code for the
photographers?
Business attire unless otherwise
specified.
How long will the photographers
stay at the reception?
There are many variables to this question. It depends on the package you choose and the number of hours of coverage. It is a good idea to plan in advance for what coverage you would want for your day and we can discuss it in more detail at the time of your appointment.
Before leaving, we always consult with the bride and groom to make sure all the photographs they would like have been taken.
What is the advantage of
hiring you instead of someone else?
There are several good
reasons to hire us instead of someone else:
The first is that you are hiring the two of us. Do you like our work? If so, then in hiring us you are going to receive the same quality photography that we have provided to other clients, by capturing your day through our photographer’s eye.
Second, we treat every wedding as if it was our own son or daughters wedding. Your wedding is important to us. We work hard to capture every moment of your day. You are extremely busy on your wedding day, and the shots my husband and I capture will show you things you didn’t even know happened at your wedding! It will give you the chance to relive your wedding in cherished photos that will be enjoyed forever. This is the first chapter in the book of your new life and we love being the photojournalist who captures those moments. Basically, we love photography, and we love photographing weddings, and it is reflected in our work.
Also with two photographers, we can capture images that would be impossible for only one photographer to shoot. So while one is taking the down the aisle shots, the other is capturing the look on the grooms face the moment he sees his future bride for the first time. Or while cutting the cake, one is taking the couple and cake, while the other focuses on the hands doing the cutting.
In addition, our pricing is reasonable. We believe the average person should be able to afford quality wedding photography without breaking the bank. And not only do you receive quality photography at a reasonable price, but you receive a DVD with all those images taken at your wedding. This allows you to reproduce any of your wedding photos to share with family and friends without the usual price gouging of per picture reproduction fees that most photographers charge.
